How come sometimes when I'm talking or walking everything pauses or stops?
Oftentimes, this phenomenon is caused by what we call lag, which is a suspended moment online caused by a disruption in
service from your ISP (Internet Service Provider). Other things you have running on your system as you play, such as CD
players, downloads, etc., can also cause gameplay to slow down.
Try turning off these extras to ensure as little interference to your gameplay as possible. Type: /status to see a list of toggles
you can use that may help your lag situation. Contact your ISP if you suffer from repeated lag bursts.
How come some characters only say one thing to me?
Many NPCs (Non Player Characters) in the game will give you quests or missions to complete in order to gain experience
or items. Once you have completed that quest or mission, the NPC will say something different to you, or either will not
talk to you.
If an NPC keeps telling you, for example, to check a western path, this is probably something you should do before you can advance
further in the game. Once you have completed a quest, return to the NPC that gave you the quest and he/she will direct you
further or either tell you that you successfully completed the task.
How do I get a character (NPC) to talk to me?
The best way to get an NPC (Non Player Character) to talk to you is to say "Hi" or "Repeat, <NPC name> If an NPC will not

I don't know where to hunt for experience or gold; where should I try and where should I not?
When in doubt about where to proceed next in the game, try going into a town or a tavern and talking to the NPCs
(Non Player Characters).
Did you miss talking with any NPCs in that other town? Try returning to that NPC and talking to him again. He may have
more quests or clues to give you.
Why am I missing gold or have died after I left the game?
A character safely exits the game by standing on a blue square and hitting the F12 key. If your character exits in any
other manner, such as hitting F12 when not on a blue square, getting "knocked offline" by your ISP (Internet Service
Provider), or otherwise losing connection with the game by some other means, then your character stays in the game for up
to five minutes afterwards.
If this has happened in an area with enemies, than you may have been killed by those enemies during those five minutes and
you could not retrieve your gold and items from your corpse.
How do I leave the game?
A character safely exits the game by standing on a bluesquare and hitting the F12 key or by clicking on the "Exit" button in the

number of saves that a player can have at any time is 10.
What is the meaning of the number next to my name in the chat window?
The number next to your name shows what mirror you are on. The world of Astonia is currently divided into 26 separate,
yet identical, worlds or mirrors.
You can travel to a different mirror at a portal by touching the portal, clicking the mirror you want to go to (for example,
mirror 7 is notated as M7 on the transport map), then clicking your desired re-entry spot (Aston, Cameron, etc.). Although
many people may be in different mirrors on the game, all players use the same chat channels.
My bless is not working! I can't re-Bless myself!
Magic users have the ability to stack Bless spells. This means that once one Bless spell runs out, another Bless
spell "kicks in" (if you have cast another Bless spell to "wait in queue"). You can stack a maximum of seven (7) spells.
If you hit the ESCAPE key at any time for any reason, it cancels all the stacked spells.
Many magic users prefer to use the Autobless feature, which continuously re-casts Bless for them. This feature can
be enabled by typing /autobless To check the status of your Autobless, type: /status

keep the game running smoothly. Respect them and heed their words; they are helpers of the gods and of Ishtar.

What is the Pentagram Quest™?
The Pentagram Quest™ is a game that all players (from about level 10 and up) can play together. It's an ongoing game that takes
place in "the pents" - a large, cavernous area partitioned off according to player levels. The walls and floors of this area are
covered with "stars" (pentagrams) and the object of the game is to touch as many pentagrams as possible as you fight off the evil
demons that inhabit the area. Once a randomly chosen number of pentagrams have been touched, the pents are "solved", and you receive
experience points for the pentagrams you touched. Killing the Demon Lords that dwell behind some of the doors in the pents not
only weakens the demons that roam the area, but also helps you attain a higher rank in the Imperial Army. There are many extra
chances to earn bonus experience points in the Pentagram Quest™ too: consecutively touching five pentagrams of the same color
before you touch a sixth (called a Color Bonus); touching a randomly assigned Lucky Pent; or being the one to solve the pents, are
just a few ways to earn bonuses. The entrances to the Pentagram Quest™ are southwest of blue squares in Aston - be sure to
SHIFT + RIGHT CLICK on the doors to determine which level area is right for you!
